I’ve always enjoyed woodcarving. It’s such a warm an engaging material coupled with a timeless process. All of my work is hand carved and that close connection to the material and the process is essential to producing quality work.
I studied at Norwich school of art and design and then went on to complete a degree in fine art sculpture at Loughborough University. Also going on to study sculpture at the Royal Academy and the Henry Moore foundation. Sculpture has always been my passion and my main interest so I feel very lucky to have been able to use my skills in a professional manor now carving memorials in oak to celebrate loved ones fusing my passion for sculpture and love of wood.
During my studies in Id completed many full size figures in clay and portraits along with large public stone carving commissions and bronze casting. After my studies I worked in Brighton exhibiting and selling work at places such as the Brighton media centre and making bespoke hand carved furniture. I then went on to work at Glyndebourne opera house making props and sets. After moving back to Norwich I worked at Arthur Bretts making museum quality grade furniture for 4 years. I decided to work for myself in 2007 making furniture, making film props for such films as Robin Hood by Ridley Scott. I then set up making memorials for GreenAcres burial parks in Colney, Epping, and Chiltern which has become my main work.
I hope you enjoy looking through my gallery and see something you like.
