What are the memorials made of?

All memorials and made from quality Oak which is the best wood for exterior use.

What are the memorials coated with?

Memorials are then finished with several coats of Danish oil which protects against the elements and derived from tung nut a natural oil. I recommend re coating it every 3 to 4 months to keep it.

How big can the memorial be?

Each burial park has its own rules but as a guide for an ashes size plaque its 200m square by 300mm high

For a burial sized plaque its 400mm wide, 200mm deep by 450mm high

I’m not sure what I want?

Have a look at my gallery and if you don’t see anything that is suitable then just give me a call or email me and we can discuss some ideas or just tell me something about the deceased. I’ll then prepare some drawings free of charge and obligation and send them to you in the post with a quoted price.

How much do they cost?

Every memorial is individually priced as there are rarely two the same. As a guide a 200mm x 150mm plaque with a robin or butterfly is £600 (including lettering). For the same plaque with an owl, blackbird or dog or cat would be starting at £750 as they take quite a bit longer. The large double books 400mm square with curled pages and book mark are £950 with lettering then any carved elements are additional costs. When I send you a design I always give a price which includes delivery and that is all you pay, no extra costs.

What do I do next?

Simply send me an email or give me a call and we can have a discussion about your requirements thoughts and ideas. I’ll then complete some designs for you with a quoted price and then let me know your thoughts once you receive them. Its quite common to have few designs done so don’t worry if we don’t get it right first time.

How long does it take?

For smaller carvings it normally takes 6 to 8 weeks to for larger carvings it can take up to 3 to 4 months as I have to get the wood cut out and I like to let that dry for as long as possible. I’ll always give a lead time when you place an order as then I know how busy I am too.

Once I’d see the design I really liked it and wanted a copy of it for home?

If you let me know you want a similar carving to the memorial to have at home. Let me know at the time and I can get one done as I’ve completed ones before using two half of the same wood which can be a nice touch.

I already have a plaque made by someone else but would like a carving added to it is this possible?
